About Us

lemonbaywomansclub.com
Please visit our website for membership applications. Organized in 1918, our club's dual purposes are to preserve our historic building and to serve our community. Historically, the club has played an important role in the development of the religious, educational, civic and political life of Englewood. During its history, the club served as a sanctuary for many Englewood churches and as a meeting place for various organizations. During World War II, the building was turned over to the American Red Cross. The club was the first building in Englewood to be listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Membership events include craft workshops, pot luck dinners, holiday celebrations, teas, luncheons, and many more events that build camaraderie and community spirit. Annual scholarships are awarded to Lemon Bay High School Seniors. Our major fundraising activity is an annual Christmas/Fall Bazaar which offers delightful items for sale and our lovely Boutique (hours of operation are posted on the front door). We invite those interested to join this close knit sisterhood and help us carry on our time honored traditions.
